The Shape of Wind

By Teacher Iola

For their explorations into movement our K1 children expressed interest in how the clouds move in the sky. They decided that the wind was involved in this process. They discussed the nature of wind, it’s movements, shapes and colours. Collaboratively they created this beautiful art piece relating darker colours to strong and stormy winds whilst lighter blues, silvers and whites represented a gentle breeze on a  summer’s day.

“The wind makes the clouds go in a spiral. It does this with its mouth.”

“A gentle wind is heart shaped.”
