“The artist is not a special kind of person; rather each person is a special kind of artist.”
-Ananda Coomaraswamy
The designers of New York's Central Park, Olmsted and Vaux, purposely created meandering paths throughout the park so that visitors would have no choice but to wander through and be witness to the beauty of the natural world.
Following on this idea, a walk around the halls and campus of our school reveals many pieces of artwork. Works that were inspired by the creativity of our students and made by them, often working as a team. The goal is to enable everyone to see something of beauty (in this case artwork) wherever you are in the school. The hallways, the bathroom, the classrooms - at OISCA International School, we display art throughout the campus so that all can enjoy and be inspired by the beauty. Creativity brings forth works of art and self expression and also sparks new ways in problem solving skills - all increasing the potential of each person.
