The Spirit of Giving

As we get closer to the Christmas holiday and see the Christmas decorations all around town, the K2 students become more interested in this holiday and have had more discussions about Santa Claus and how he brings presents to all the little boys and girls.

Pre-K’s Teacher Shari first introduced OISCA to the Home for Hope Orphanage in Nonthaburi as she volunteers there twice a month. As a result, the OISCA family (all staff and student body) have been sponsoring a child there annually for the last five years. By receiving donations from the K2 teacher’s family and friends from America, the students helped pack a care package for eighteen little girls ranging from 8-13 years old. The care package included: 2 pairs of socks for their school uniforms, notebook, color pencils, highlighters, post-it notes, a set of masks, mask necklace, bath towel, chapstick, mirror, comb, three types of hair accessories, and a reusable bag to store all their goodies.

After the goodies are all packed, Teacher Shari will help the OISCA family send their gifts to the orphanage. Thank you again Teacher Shari for continuing this great opportunity for the students to learn about the spirit of giving.
