Tactile Art

Tactile art is a way of exploring textures and an opportunity to incorporate sensory exploration in an artistic way. It is frequently used to teach the visually impaired about the world around them.

Here our k1 students exercise their creativity by using working in the tactile art section of our art room. The feeling is of a Japanese Zen rock garden and students arrange different natural materials (feathers, shells, leaves, stones) to create their artwork. It's a time for them to be calm and creative and express themselves.
