Our Pre-K gardeners have been growing sweet potatoes in the garden.
Gardening is an important curriculum at OISCA. We encourage students to be exposed to nature and its surrounding while increasing environmental awareness. It is also a great way to get children to learn about nutrition and make healthy choices. Gardening is also linked to science, which plays a major role in our education system.
Hands on nature gardening allows children to be active and strong learners. It will encourage teamwork and more communication with their peers. The act of gardening itself is very soothing and children mostly feel relaxed and calm, especially being surrounded by greenery and nature.
Here at OISCA we believe in engaging nature in most of our subjects, it helps children to expand their imagination and creativity. It is one of the best style of education we can give our children today.
