Nature Scaping

She doesn’t love to play in the sand. While the other students are busy building, destroying, rebuilding, soaking, patting, sculpting, and splashing, she is busy creating little worlds of her own. It is incredible to see little learners disappear into their imaginations using the world around them. Little hands practice fine motor skill development through pinching and poking, balancing and placing, sorting and setting nature’s materials.

This week she practiced making alphabet shapes, creating faces, and exploring geometric figures before settling on building and rebuilding a heart sculpture. Gentle, peaceful, restorative, and creative, perfect themes to ring in a beautiful earth friendly masterpiece.
