Metaphor

The year one and two children had a fun time investigating artistic metaphors with leaves. This was related to colorful fall leaves that were collected for the "LL" end blend found in the word "Fall."

Children make widespread use of metaphor in their work. This corresponds to an investigation of reality that allow our thoughts to open and break down rigid ideas as to what things are.

All the children used metaphor superbly when creating and interpreting a simple leaf into visible metaphors such as dinosaurs, lemons, boats, cars and tigers. Whereby they switched the familiar form of a leaf with a similar substitution that had some interest and meaning for them.
