An important part of science is to help children make sense of and discover new things in their world.
Therefore, the Science and Nature club took a mini field trip to the shop opposite the school to observe the collection of Thai birds that are kept there.
They made some marvelous live drawings of the birds and learned lots of new information from the owner. He informed us that his dove, sitting on her nest had already laid ten eggs and that his oldest bird was already more than ten years old.
This was a window into traditional Thai culture and nature right on our doorstep, providing the children with a unique little, yet valuable learning experience.
